Did you know that with every thought you have you’re restructuring and changing the physical makeup of your brain? Visualizing things beforehand, or “mental rehearsal,” is an effective technique for learning and perfecting a physical skill and has become a key component of success for elite athletes like those competing in the Olympics. But this isn’t something that only Olympians can use. Back in 2007, neuroscientist Alvaro Pascual-Leone demonstrated this in a modest experiment with a simple five-finger piano study at Harvard Medical School. The technique has continued to be the subject of multiple research and published papers such as a study on mental rehearsal in cardiopulmonary resuscitation training for nursing students.
So be mindful of your thoughts today and take advantage of the vital role they play in shaping your life! Please don’t forget your brain training also, and if you still don’t have full access, join now.

Phases of Alzheimer’s
One of the difficulties in diagnosing and treating Alzheimer’s is that a lot of the damage from Alzheimer’s is done before we notice the symptoms. So, what if we could pinpoint which cell types in the brain may be harmed first by the disease before the damage is done? That’s exactly what a recent National Institutes of Health brain mapping study sought to figure out, and its findings suggest that Alzheimer’s damages the brain in two distinct phases.

Roadmap of the brain
Despite being small and simple organisms, fruit flies share a surprising number of genes with humans, including those related to brain function and brain diseases. That’s one of the reasons that makes fruit flies so commonly used in brain studies. And for the first time, researchers have mapped the entire brain of an adult fruit fly. It’s beautiful too!
Find out why this is such a significant milestone for science.
Lasting effects
We’ve all been there. After a poor night’s sleep, our mood is often off the next day and we have a hard time focusing. But what we may not have realized is that the negative effects of a poor night’s sleep may echo well into the following week, according to a recent study. Fortunately, that also appears to be true for the positive effects of a workout! So grab your weights and
