As you might have already heard, BrainHQ was awarded yet another contract by the U.S. Army. The use of BrainHQ in the military began more than a decade ago to help military personnel recover from concussions, head injuries, and exposure to blasts. The U.S. Army also relies on BrainHQ to help soldiers build resilience against brain injury risks and achieve their peak performance.

Over the years, as individual BrainHQ users, most of us have also been building resilience against cognitive decline, increasing our cognitive performance and, for some of us, recovering from cognitive deficits and impairments based on the results published by over 200 robust studies!

Please continue your mission to build up your brain resilience and reach your peak performance by training with BrainHQ today, and, if you still don’t have full access, join now.

Kind regards,
Frieda Fanni

Flipping the switch
Microglia are immune cells that keep your brain healthy by patrolling for damage and clearing away debris and harmful proteins. But scientists have discovered—using a novel and realistic research model—that those same beneficial cells can be flipped from their normal protective state to a harmful state. This can occur when the cells are around a certain Alzheimer’s disease-related protein. See how this study may contribute to possible treatments for Alzheimer’s.

Linking satellite and brain imaging
Harnessing both global satellite imaging data and brain imaging data, a team of researchers from around the world is identifying how the environment can affect mental health, cognition, and brain development in young people. The dataset provides a unique opportunity to explore how geographical factors such as urban density and light pollution overlap with brain health. Read more about this unique crossover of neuroimaging and geoimaging.

How your brain outperforms AI
It’s been nearly three decades since a computer program first beat the world chess champion Gary Kasparov at a game of chess. Since then, AI has developed in leaps and bounds—outperforming humans in many other tasks. But there’s one fundamentally human ability that we do very naturally and that AI fumbles with, according to researchers at Duke University. Find out what that is.

Sleep on it
It turns out there’s a scientific basis to support the adage “sleep on it.” A cross-disciplinary group of researchers with backgrounds in neuroscience and economics have demonstrated how mental fatigue affects our decision-making process through a loss of self-control. Hear how their study combined approaches from psychology, neuroscience, and economics.

Nutritional potential
Age-related brain atrophy is the gradual loss of neurons and the shrinkage of brain tissue. It’s a natural part of aging and can lead to cognitive decline and neurological issues. Certain Mediterranean diets have been reported to reduce age-related brain atrophy by nearly 50%. Researchers are now hoping to understand the mechanisms through which this reduction is achieved at the biochemical level. Check out the full report.

Your Brain Holds the Key to Safer Driving!
Your brain is one of the most important pieces of safety equipment when you get behind the wheel of a car. As we age, our reaction times slow down and our field of vision decreases. This means our safety on the road is also reduced. By spending only 10 hours doing the engaging driving cognitive training program you can save your life and the lives of others on the road!
