Did you know that we hear with our brain just as much as we do with our ears? In a study published last year in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, scientists demonstrated significant improvement in hearing after using our BrainHQ auditory program for 40 hours (Time Magazine).

And while we're on the topic of hearing, DynamicBrain is very pleased to announce our partnership with the Advanced Hearing Group of Clinics, who will be now offering our patented Hearing Rehabilitation Course to their clients in the National Capital Region. In the words of the President and Founder of the Advanced Hearing Group of Clinics, Rodney Taylor, Doctor of Audiology: "We are truly excited to offer the clinically-proven BrainHQ technology to our valued clients!"

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Kind Regards,
Frieda Fanni

Why Teen-aged Brain Circuitry Allows for Risk-taking
Study results from a 2013 Ontario Student Drug Use and Health Survey attributes risky behaviour among high school students to the still developing maturation of the teenage brain. The study found that more than one-third of licensed drivers in Grades 10 to 12 say they had sent a text while behind the wheel. Read more.

Mysterious Gene Delays Alzheimer's Onset
Researchers at the Douglas Mental Health Institute in Montreal have discovered a variant of a cholesterol-regulating gene, which makes the enzyme HMG CoA reductase, and ultimately delays the onset of Alzheimer's. The study results provide genetic support to the hypothesis that Alzheimer's can be prevented! Read more.

Why Lost Sleep Accelerates Brain Aging
New brain imaging study published in journal Sleep finds normal aging-related brain changes progress faster in middle-aged and older people. So while sleep troubles and shrinkage of certain brain structures are more common with age, those changes accelerate with every hour of lost sleep. Read more.

Top 8 Reasons Why Technology Drives You into the Abyss (by our Dr. Merzenich)
Technological advancements are massively rewiring our brains, says renowned neuroscientist Dr. Michael Merzenich in The Shallows: What The Internet Is Doing To Our Brains. Where Marshall McLuhan had prophetically envisioned the internet becoming the extension of the human nervous system in the mid - 1960's, Merzenich now warns that the effect of technology on human intelligence could be "deadly." Baby's Brain 'rehearses' Before First Words
A recent study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, suggests that before babies actually begin to speak, their brains have already laid the groundwork of how to form words. Using a brain scanner that measures brain activation, study results show that speech sounds stimulate areas of an infant's brain that coordinate and plan for the physical movements needed for speech development. Dads' Brain Plasticity Naturally Bonds to Fatherhood
Brains of dads who are highly engaged in their infants' lives are activated in much the same way that they are for biological mothers who carried their pregnancy through to full term - shown in a recent study published in the Proceedings of the National Acedemy of Sciences. Read more.

How the Brain Feeds Bursting Bubbles
Trading stocks appears to flare up activity in the part of the brain associated with pleasure and reward. According to researchers, this irrational exuberance causes some traders to buy too aggressively and ultimately drive stock market bubbles to artificial highs before bursting and returning to their core values. Concussions are Brain Injuries
Research has previously shown that the side effects from concussions can linger long after physical symptoms of dizziness, headaches and light sensitivity have seemingly vanished. Recent clinical study results have now found that the harder concussed individuals focused on any mental activity, the more severe the resulting headaches or dizziness may become. Read more.
